Pathways Create: West U Baptist Children's Renovation

The future of CityRise depends on the spaces we create for our children. With our current reality of children being spread out across the campus, our aim is to create a singular, secure entrance for them. This entrance will lead directly to an incredible, new indoor play space with a brand-new raised structure climbing twenty-six feet into the air. This play space will be one of the most compelling playscapes inside Houston’s inner loop.
Additionally, our preschool will experience refreshing, and our elementary education spaces and KidRally room will occupy what is currently the Fowler Chapel and senior adult education space. These state-of-the-art classrooms will serve the children of our community for many years to come as we seek to introduce them to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. The need is to move beyond mere maintenance and to strategically design environments that are not just safe but dynamically inspiring, creating spaces that communicate, "We care about you, we care about your children, and we care about the next generation." This investment is a bold declaration of faith in this community for many years to come.

I love serving a church that is committed to creating a space where families feel welcome, connected, and secure. The planned renovations will keep all children in a secure area, with increased capacity for worship and Community Groups. The new play areas will provide a fun environment for children to make friends, learn, and grow. Through generous member investment, our facility will open a door for our church to be a hub for the community and a home for new families to worship and follow Christ together.

CityRise West U Baptist church is situated in the heart of a vibrant community full of young families with kids, just a stone’s throw from the main elementary school in the neighborhood. The city of West University Place contains one of the most well-connected and resourceful communities in the world, creating the opportunity for our church to spread the gospel within major circles of influence and to give parents resources and support in raising their children to honor God and to know Jesus. Although the campus has A Children’s Village preschool as a platform to reach these families, the church can make a much more meaningful impact by offering upgraded children’s areas and play infrastructure, making CityRise West U Baptist one of the easiest places for kids to grow up in a church that fosters the kind of fun, learning, worship, and fellowship that God intends.
