A Note from Pastor Roger

Good afternoon, Church Family!
We have had a fantastic launch to Great: 40 Days of Commission, and in last week’s call to “Go,” over 300 of you came to Dinner & Deploy to learn more about local and international mission opportunities this year. At that event, we made a huge announcement that I now want to share with the rest of you: Rynie Badenhorst will join our staff as Global Outreach Pastor.

Meet Rynie Badenhorst

Rynie (pronounced "Rainy") will serve in a role overseeing our missions ministry and the development of our Digital Church ministry. Our goal will be to move viewers from simply watching our content to engaging and connecting with our fellowship. This is our strategic next step to reaching people well beyond the walls of our church campuses.
Rynie and his wife, Tricia, joined us at our West U Baptist campus in November 2013 and their family (including their children Grace, Leilani, and Conrad) have been very active here. Rynie is from South Africa and has lived in many parts of the world. He has a long, successful background in the oil and gas industry and is currently completing his Master's degree at Moody Bible Institute. He has participated in and given leadership to a great number of our CityRise mission initiatives, and he and his family are highly engaged in outreach with Afghan refugees here at home. Missions Pastor Chuck Oak will walk with Rynie through September of this year, after which Rynie will keep building on the amazing missions foundation Pastor Chuck has led us to build.
Please take the time to welcome the Badenhorsts to our staff as Rynie comes to lead us to even greater things!
