A Note from Pastor Roger
Dear Church Family,
He’s one of the finest pastors I have ever worked with. He leads with yes. He finds a way, and he gets everyone home safe. Pastor Chuck Oak, along with his lovely bride, Karen, has served our congregation well for the past 12+ years. He has led countless international mission trips and local endeavors, poured into our senior adults, assisted with funerals, led out in pastoral care, and served right alongside me. I tell people that if you ever want to travel well, travel with Chuck Oak.

Karen is a leader in her own right. She’s an incredibly gifted Bible teacher, loves people to the depth of her soul, and is willing to go anywhere and do anything for Jesus. She is deeply passionate about her mom, her daughters, their husbands, and her grandchildren. She always has a kind word on her lips and is always willing to kiss her husband goodbye while he boards another plane with a team of people to share the gospel to the last, the least, and the lost.
These two hold a very special place in my heart, and this Sunday, September 8, we will honor them in our services and in the afternoon at a special reception from 2-4p in the Fowler Chapel at our West U Baptist campus. If you'd like to leave a note to Chuck and Karen, we will have notecards and a place to receive them available in the welcome center areas at each campus for this Sunday only.
Many of you have asked about giving the Oaks a love offering. If this is something that you would like to do, you may do so at this link through the month of September. Please note that these gifts will not be tax-deductible, but by giving them through the church, they can remain anonymous.
This Sunday is going to be a great day to be in the house of the Lord! Let’s continue to expect greater things!
Still Expectant,
Pastor Roger
