A Note from Pastor Roger
Dear Church Family,
As many of you know, I have a great affinity for Pastor Gregg Matte of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Not only do I respect him as a pastor in our city and for the ministry of Breakaway that he planted in College Station many years ago, but I have known Gregg since we played on the same little league baseball team as kids.
We are on a text chain together called H-Town Pastors, where seventeen of us pray for and text with one another every Sunday as we prepare to step into our various pulpits. Our love and support of each other is a beautiful thing that we have together as pastors in our city.
Recently, I was made aware of a new publication that Gregg and Houston’s First Baptist have given to their members and to other believers who take notice. Gregg responded on our H-Town Pastors thread and offered to us all the work that he and his team have done on the "The Six 6 P’s of Stewarding Your Vote," which you can find and watch through here. I have watched every video that they have made (all are under five minutes), and I am so grateful for the thoughtful way that Pastor Gregg has addressed the opportunity we have to vote this coming election season. I believe that you will be a better citizen and Christian for considering the questions and content of these short videos.
Please continue to pray for our country, our state, and our city as we, as a nation, go to the polls soon. If you are not registered to vote, I would encourage you to do so soon.
Still Expectant,
Pastor Roger
Don't forget that you can continue to bless Pastor Chuck Oak and his wife, Karen, with a love offering through the rest of this month. You may do so at this link. Please note that these gifts are not tax-deductible, but by giving them through the church, they can remain anonymous.
