A Note from Pastor Roger

Good afternoon, Church Family!

May is approaching, which means a season of transitions will soon take place. The weather is slowly warming, school will soon be out, and summer break will be upon us. Lots of endings and beginnings!

On the beginning side of things, our next series begins this Sunday, and I'm very excited to launch this one with you. It's called Faithful. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be faithful, specifically in the midst of persecution and suffering. Faithfulness is how God has overcome, and it is how we will overcome in Christ.

Faithful will be a massive series that we will study throughout the year, broken up into parts or "seasons." Our first season is a six-part study of Daniel called "Into the Fire." We will look at stories of both God's and Daniel's faithfulness and touch on how this book foreshadows the faithfulness the church is expected to embody as written in Revelation. We are living in challenging times, and this first season is an foundational example of what it truly is to be faithful.
Speaking of faithful, you have been incredibly faithful and generous the past two years since we began the Deep & Wide Generosity Initiative, and God has done some awesome things through it! We are celebrating God's generosity and His hand with Deep & Wide Day, an all campuses, joint service on Sunday, May 19 from 10-11:30am in the Dunham Theater at Houston Christian University
We have a big morning planned, so make plans to attend alongside the whole CityRise church family! Childcare will be available at each campus for drop off starting at 9am. And if you need to know where to go and where to park, here is a handy map
We'll see you on Sunday for the start of the Faithful series! If you are unable to attend, or you'd like to share the service with someone farther away, you can join us via the app, on our livestreams page, or at youtube.com/cityriseorg.

Stay Expectant,
Pastor Roger
